Three chiefs and their subjects totalling 18 are in police custody at Jenda in Mzimba district for allegedly inviting a ‘witch finder’ from Zambia against two individuals over witchcraft accusations.
The victims are Jessi Chirwa and Benard Chirwa. The incident reportedly happened between August and September this year.
Jenda Police Macfarlane Mseteka identifies the suspected chiefs as Group Village Head Paul Chipokosa Chirwa, Village Headman Christopher Chirwa, and Village Headman Yolamu Chirwa
“These people stole money and three bags of maize from Jessi Chirwa, valued at K468,000 and stole money and destroyed property belonging to Bernard Chirwa, valued at K750,000,” says Mseteka.
