In the opening games of the 2023 Central Zone Basketball League (CEZOBAL) playoff finals, Bravehearts Men Basketball Club defeated ABC Lions 50-49 while Bravehearts Ladies beat UNILIL Arkangels 68-57 on Wednesday at the ABC Macon Gym in Lilongwe.

Speaking to Malawi News Agency, coach of Bravehearts Griffin Kalua acknowledged that his team endured a hard fought victory.

On his part, Bravehearts Ladies coach Young Jere said he enjoyed the match and acknowledged outstanding performance from Riana Damaris and Takondwa Lwazi to control the game.

Captain of UNILIL Arkangels, Takondwa Chang’anamuno, remained positive that they can play better in game 2 with more focus on being alert and making shots.

Game 2 of the finals for both men and women will be played on Saturday at the ABC Macon Gym.
