Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has assured cyclone Freddy survivors that government will continue providing them with quality health services right in the camps.
Chiponda was speaking on Sunday after she cheered survivors at Bangula Camp in Nsanje District.
“As government we want to make sure that all affected persons are accessing quality health services where ever they are seeking refuge as such we will be intensifying mobile clinics in survivor’s camps.
“The main idea is to reach out to all chronically ill patients so that they are able to access health services such as anti-retro viral refill, Blood Pressure and Sugar medication,” she added.
On this note the minister encouraged the survivors to utilise the mobile clinics.
“The ministry would also like to promote hygiene and sanitation issues so that we do not have diseases that break out due to unhygienic practices. As such we will make sure that toilets and bathrooms are enough in all camps,” she added.
The minister then praised Member of Parliament for the area, Gladys Ganda for her tireless efforts in assisting people in her area; Nsanje Lalanje.
During the meeting the Minister distributed 500 bags of maize and Likuni Phala to the survivors at the camp.
