Chairperson for Ngwenya Ward Development Committee (WDC), Wilson Mateyu told Malawi News Agency that the bridge has been constructed with funding from Constituency Development Fund (CDF)worth K34 Million.

Joe Katalama, Ward Councillor for Ngwenya hailed government for providing funds through CDF saying there was no hope for a new bridge to be constructed.

“We have been in a dire need of a new bridge considering the mobility challenges faced by our people, our previous attempts to lobby for funding proved futile, ” Katalama said.

Meanwhile, Ngwenya Constituency Development Committee is lobbying for other funds through CDF for construction of another bridge connecting Area 22B with Chipasula where the current bridge needs renovation.
