UNIVERSITIES TO PROMOTE UNITY, PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT

They is high expectations that unity, peace and development, will be observed within the higher learning institutions in the country as a preamble to governmental undertakings.

This follows signing ceremony for Memorandum of understanding(MoU) within the notable higher learning institutions in the country ,on provision of quality and independent analysis,training,research and advocacy on piece education and development on Friday in Blantyre.

Speaking during the ceremony ,Minister of Local Government ,Unity and Culture, Richard Chimwendo Banda said the MoU will serve as part and parcel in government parliament proceedings

Chimwendo said”Peace and unity is what will help Malawi to read 2063 vision,hence universities will assist a lot through the MoU by sharing their views”.

And in his remarks,acting United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) Residence Coordinator Shigeki Komatsubara ,said this MoU is a great confirmation for the union Malawi has with other nations and are ready to support our nation in fulfilling the goals of our country.

The MoU is held with the support of UNDP,United Nations through the Government and has brought together ,Must, University of Malawi ,Catholic University among others.
